It's a GREAT Day!

Just checking in quickly to let you know that my biopsy came back negative. No cancer! Woo-Hoo! I still need to go back for a follow up ultrasound, but my doctor said that everything looks good right now! Thanks for all of the well wishes and prayers!! XOXO

Surgery Update

I know I have said it before, but I will say it again. God is good! Thank you so much for your prayers. I really felt them today.

The surgery went well. My doctor said that she found more polyps than she had initially thought (I think she said four), but was able to get them all and send them to the lab for a biopsy. I won't have the results until my post-op appointment in a couple weeks. She also confirmed the bicornuate uterus thing and told me that she was surprised to find a septum in the middle (which she took off). She also said that she was surprised to find that my uterus is upside down or backward or something of that sort. I was still a little out of it when she was telling me all of this. I will ask her more about it at my next appt. After she told me all of this, I started to say something about my kids and she interupted me and said in a very convincing voice, “You are VERY lucky.” I corrected her and told her that I wasn’t lucky. I was blessed.

Andy told me afterwards that my docotor told him there was some sort of tear or cut from the instruments so I have a couple of sutures that are supposed to dissolve on their own. I have no idea where they are. I suppose it can’t be too bad since she forgot to tell me about it. (Or maybe she did and I was too out of it to remember. LOL!)

The best thing about the whole procedure is that I never got sick or even a bit nauseous! The anesthesiologist was amazing! He asked me a lot of questions beforehand and told me not to worry. He had some great stuff that would help me avoid the nausea. He was right! I asked him if I could buy a few bags of the stuff to take home so I won’t get motion sickness in the car anymore. He just laughed. Hey, it was worth a try! *Ü*

Anyway, just wanted to let you all know that I am doing great. My mom and Andy have been wonderful today. They kept the kiddos occupied so I could rest. I will be laying low for the next day or two. Although I feel well when I am sitting or lying down, I am definitely not ready to go run a marathon. (Ha! I wasn't ready for that before the surgery!)

Praise God!

I wasn't going to post this, but I am just so overjoyed at how good God is and wanted to share my praise for Him with you all! Without going into too many details, I am going in for a type of surgery called a hysteroscopy in a few weeks. (Once I know the exact date I will let you know. I am a bit nervous and could really use the prayers.) I have been diagnosed with a bicornuate uterus, a cyst on my left ovary, a thickened endometrium (sp?), possible complications from prior hemorrhage, possible polyps, and a host of other things. My hormone levels are showing that I am post menopausal, which is 100% not true. (I actually wish it was true.) They cannot figure out what is going on, so they are going to do some surgery to see what they can find. They will be doing a biopsy at the same time to rule out cancer.

The reason that I am happy is because over the past few weeks I have had a number of people including medical doctors, nurses, ultrasound techs, and others tell me that, medically speaking, I was lucky to be able to 1. get pregnant, 2. be able to remain pregnant, and 3. deliver both of my children alive. Apparently someone with my "birth defects" as I read on one website, has a very low chance of getting pregnant at all. Then once pregnant, it would have been likely that I would have miscarried anytime during my pregnancy. I am praising our AWESOME Lord because it was not luck that I had no problems getting pregnant either time, carried them both to (almost) full term, and they were both born perfectly healthy! God's hands were all over me and our precious little ones! Every child is a miracle, but for me, Ryan and Hannah will always be a reminder of just how amazing our God is and that he is still in the business of performing miracles. It has been my dream since I was a little girl to marry a wonderful man and to have two children (one boy and one girl.) The Lord, knowing the desires of my heart, blessed me with both!

I will keep you posted on my surgery date and the findings, but in the meantime please share in the joy, grace, and blessings of our wondrous God! He is sooo good! *Ü*

Edited to add: My surgery date is scheduled for Friday, August 7th at 7am.
